It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert Lloyd Cooper announce his passing, on Monday February 24, 2025 at the Reston Health Centre.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife Linda Cooper (Ashcroft), children Melanie (Nelson), Shawna (Ben), Kyle (Lindsay). His grandchildren Breanna (Brett), Shaylynn (Dominic), Danielle (Chad), Brandi (Gavin), Katie (Scott), Nairn, Mason, Natalie. His great grandchildren Kylie, Novalee, Jake, Isobel, Olivia, Johnny, Roe. Robert is also survived by his brother, Allan Cooper, with whom he held a very special bond with and as well as his many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mildred Cooper, father and mother in law Cecil and Jennie Ashcroft and his 10 siblings.

Robert was born in Virden, and raised in Bernice Manitoba. He married his wife, Linda Cooper, in 1966. They raised their three children in Tilston and then moved to Sinclair in 1978. They moved around some over the years, but returned and made their home in Sinclair.

We are all going to miss his great stories, warm hugs, and kind western soul. He was a true cowboy, often found in his cowboy boots and hat. Robert spent a lot of his early years horseback riding and working his team of horses. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator. His biggest enjoyment and love in life was his family. He left us all with some beautiful memories that we will cherish forever.

A private service will be held at a later date. In memory of Robert, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

  1. Dear Linda and Family, our deepest sympathy on Robert’s passing. I just heard about it a couple of days ago. I well remember at school, David, Huck and Robert were the same age within a couple of weeks. Hadn’t seen Robert in a couple of years and I hadn’t realized that he had Parkinson’s and was doing poorly. Our thoughts are with you. Certainly not much of the Cooper family left… just Allan. Our thoughts are with you and your family… Doreen and Aime

  2. Condolences to the Cooper family Linda , Shawna, Melanie and Kyle and their families. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
