DOUGLAS – Janet Douglas beloved wife of Roy Douglas, mother of Bill (Sheila) and Linda, grandmother of Brett (Sarah) Morgan, passed away in the Souris Health Centre on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the age of 75. Janet was born July 22, 1938 in the old Souris Hospital, parents Jim and Jessie Glover. Roy and Janet were married July 2, 1960 and they lived at Menteith and Hartney moving to Souris in 1976. Janet’s family came first, she always had time to help others. Janet had many hobbies, stamp collecting, spoons, scrapbooking and more. She liked to cook and loved to bake pies and cookies. She was a member of the Rebekahs, member of the UCW and she volunteered at St. Paul’s Church Thrift Shop for 17 years. Janet loved springtime, filling planters with seedlings and watching them grow. Funeral service took place at St. Paul’s United Church with Rev. Wendy Rankin officiating. Burial at Souris and Glenwood Cemetery. So sorry to hear about Janet’s passing. We are away right now and will not make the funeral but our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
Hi Bill, I heard your Mother passed away. Sorry to hear that . I know she was sick for some time but it is still hard to see her go. I hope your Dad is going to be okay. Sorry I will miss the funeral as I am a long way from home.
