May you rest in peace Maureen. Our friendship goes back to 1975. You and George were kind enough to let us rent the house on the farm. We had many fond memories there with both you and George. Our kids and yours have been life long friends too. Our trips to weddings, curling in Killarney and many other social events will always be treasured . You fought a courageous battle with your life long partner at your side. Your kids and grandkids will have many memories to cherish. May you forever be our guardian angel from heaven. We will miss you and treasure our time together .

Our deepest condolences to you all during this difficult time. Unfortunately the storm kept me from making it to Hartney for the funeral, but I was thinking of you all. Auntie Maureen will be dearly missed. I will always remember her laugh! Hugs to everyone!❤️
My thoughts and prayers are with you George , Bonnie ,Scott and families. I must tell you all what a pleasure it was when I met Maureen at the lake ! We became fast friends and enjoyed many laughs around the bonfire at night. She enjoyed singing to Beatles songs , and even roasting marshmallows , to which we would giggle at how sticky of a situation we had gotten ourselves into. She was a beautiful person and she will be missed.
I just found out by accident on my computer and I’m so sorry. I first met Maureen on the Tom and Muriel Turner family farm while visiting cousin Calvin, cousin Linda and Maureen from Winnipeg who also loved enjoying holidays there and visited Linda. Those visits started around 1960 and they were the best times of my life! Cleaning sh*t from the barn, driving a tractor, chub fishing in the creek, selling gopher tails to the municipal office to buy more shells to go out and do it again, plucking eggs and later plucking chickens. All of my great memories however, pale in comparison to those of a cousin! I can still remember the holiday day that cousin George showed up, and not being too bright, I was curious why he hadn’t come to visit Calvin and I; but instead favoured Maureen, a ‘girl’, for some reason beyond me back then. I did , however, eventually figure out why he wasn’t playing with Calvin and I at the great gopher pasture at the Turner home farm. I realized after a time that they were the perfect pair, but in retrospect; I should have seen it coming on that first visit when they both knew what was coming. They clearly had an eye for each other from day one! I just learned more here about your life and extensive travels and family and have great admiration for all that you two have accomplished together. Again; so, so sorry George, Freda and family.
Thinking of you, Bonnie and family. So sorry to hear of your Mom’s sudden passing. Sending prayers & hugs. Take care. Sincerely, Patti Anderson.
