William (Bill) Alan Hall was born on March 29, 1937. He was the 12th of 13 children born to Gilbert and Mary Hall of Virden.
Bill spent his early years as a child helping on his family’s farm. In his early 20’s Bill started working for Paul Albrechtsen, hauling water in Virden.
In December of 1959, Bill married Edith Gertz and they moved to Winnipeg where he continued to work for Paul’s Hauling. Bill and Edith went on to have 5 children – Brian, Dale, Warren, Grant, and Lori.
The family moved to Brandon in 1964, and in the mid 1980’s Bill became manager of the Brandon branch of Paul’s Hauling. By the time he retired, Bill had worked for Paul’s Hauling for a total of 55 years.
Bill met Helen in 1991 and they were married in April of 1992. Along with Helen came two daughters, Deborah and Barbara.
What started as two people falling in love turned into 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. There weren’t any labels such as step or in-laws, everyone was part of the Hall family.
Bill passed away suddenly in his home on July 19th, 2025.
He was pre-deceased by his son Warren in 2006, son Dale 2022 and great granddaughter Aria in 2024.
A graveside funeral service was held at Rosewood Memorial Garden Cemetery on July 24, 2025.
In memory of Bill, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada.

Sad to hear the news of Billy’s passing. He was a good man and the best manager I ever had. Jack.
Sorry to hear about Bill. Our thoughts + prayers are with you Helen, Brian, Grant + Lori at this difficult time.
Condolences to Billy’s families. He gave me my start in trucks way back when. Worked for him during the busy seasons part time and he always seemed to call me back every spring and fall, even though we locked horns occasionally. I could tell a few stories …lol but maybe it’s best not. Lol. Anyway, I haven’t seen him for a few years, but he was good to me. Always giving me weekend trips home to Dauphin whenever I asked and even gave me NEW trucks with NO tripmaster so I could run a WEE bit faster than the despised 90 km limit..
Rest in peace Billy ole friend.
Thanks for the memories.

Bill gave me an opportunity to get my class one and taught me a lot about the trucking industry. Crossed paths a few times after we both retired, & I enjoyed our chats to catch up on what we both had been doing.
Sincere condolences to the family.
Sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. Had a lot of good stories and memories. Condolences to the family
