Lisitza, Larry Jefferson

Lisitza: The family of Larry Lisitza are saddened to announce his passing on Sept. 28, 2020 at the Souris Hospital.  Larry lost his courageous battle with prostate cancer but will be remembered for his sense of humour and amazing positive attitude throughout  the last 5 years.

Larry was born in Sherridon, Mb in 1946 to Frank and Marie Lisitza.  At age 2, Larry and his family moved to Flin Flon, Mb.  Larry met and married Kathy and remained in Flin Flon with their children Jim and Kelly until 1984 when a job opportunity in Brandon with the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba became available.  Larry worked as a Community Addictions Worker in the southern parts of Manitoba until 2002 when he and Kathy retired to spend time travelling to the southern US and Mexico which they loved.

Larry had many hobbies.  His love of country music took them to many music festivals in the 1990’s.  After retirement , Larry’s favorite hobby was collecting and repairing old boat motors and he was successful in getting many of them up and running again.  Every June Larry travelled to Flin Flon to visit old friends and spent many hours out fishing with his buddies.

Larry was predeceased by his parents Frank and Marie; brothers Jim and Lynn, and sister Audrey.  He leaves to cherish his memory; wife Kathy, children Jim(Cassandra), Kelly, and Mark(Bev);  grandchildren, Mikayla, Samara, and Lydia; and brother John.  This past year Larry fortunately was able to meet and spend time with his son Mark, who had been given up for adoption at birth.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.  Family and friends will gather at a later date for a celebration of Larry’s life.
