Sylvia Elizabeth Ann Mills (Farmer)

Sylvia passed away suddenly at home in her husband’s arms on August 11, 2023.

Born July 12, 1949 in Minnedosa, Manitoba.

Lived in Fairfax and attended school at Fairfax, Elgin and Hartney.

Sylvia attended Business College in Brandon, and then worked for Dunwoody & Company.

Married Larry Mills on December 7, 1968.

Sylvia and Larry lived in Virden, Manitou, Hartney and Roblin before retiring to Brandon in 2006. Sylvia worked at the Bank of Montreal, the Royal Bank and Marshall Motors before starting dialysis. Sylvia loved her family, her friends, her music and loved to cook. A big Thank You to everyone who supported her during her battle with Kidney Disease, especially the staff of the Renal Ward at the Brandon General Hospital.

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents William and Francis Farmer, her brother-in-law and nephew Ken and Dean Mills, her brother-in-law and infant niece William and Becky Voth. Sylvia is survived by her husband Larry, their daughter Erin Mills, grandson Sheddy, sisters Janie Farmer and Lori Voth, two sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law and nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was laid to rest on Saturday August 19, 2023 at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium with her family and friends attending the service.

    So sorry to hear of Sylv’s passing. I have lots of fond memories from the time we use to live together, along with 3 other girls in Brandon about 55 years ago to reconnecting the last few years. We had lots of great visits in the Dialysis Unit. She put up a good fight. RIP Sylv❤️
