  1. Sending love Rod and Janice, Kathy and Darrell and Laurie. Your mom was a beautiful person. We’ll never forget her coming to Portage to Cory’s hockey games. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren so much. I’m sure she left each of you with many memories.Hugs from Larry and Doreen

  2. My deepest sympathies to the Rod, Kathy, Laurie and families. Doreen lived a long and productive life. Her faith saw her through many rough patches as well as the true joys she will have experienced. My first memory of Doreen was when I first taught at Coxworth school. She played the piano for me at the Christmas concerts. Her musical ability brought happiness to so many. She left a wonderful legacy to her family of an example of a life well-lived. Condolences to all. Shirley Brown

  8. Your dear Mother, Doreen, was a very special lady. She loved her music and loved to share her musical taletns for others to enjoy and we certainly did. I loved my visits with her while she was still on her farm, and yet again when she had moved to VPL. She was so kind and caring. Her love was spread to many. I will certainly miss her, as she always loved to join in for a game of cards, and playa the piano for us as well. May she Rest in Peace now in her new home in Heaven, watching over all of you from there. She will be one very bright star in the sky now.

We exchanged many letters in which we shared our families stories and our love for playing the piano. I will miss Doreen and the connection she offered with my extended family.
