
Averill Whitfield – educator, historian, musical and creative volunteer, mother, Nana, beloved wife and business partner of Ralph – passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022 with family by her side. Averill lives on through her family and the legacy of contributions she made to her community of Souris, Manitoba.
Averill was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Evelyn ‘May’ and George Iliffe on April 2, 1938. She was the baby sister to brothers Jack (Barbara) and Barry ‘Bar’
Williams: Joyce, 88 years, beloved partner of Don Lindsay, mother of Kenny, Fran and Debbie, passed away in the Souris Health Centre on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Funeral Arrangements are pending. In memory of Joyce, donations may be made the Oak Lake Legion.
Warnett: Robert George (Bob), 82 years, beloved husband of the late Beatty Warnett, father of Ginny, Rob, Gordie and Christian, passed away peacefully at the Souris Personal Care Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. A private graveside service was held at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. In memory of Bob donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Wrightson: Colby, 20 years, beloved son of Darla (Andrew) Wrightson and Jason (Tara) Wilkinson, also survived by his brothers and sisters, passed away accidently on Friday, February 11, 2022. A celebration of Colby’s life was held at the Souris & Glenwood Community Hall on Friday, March 11, 2022. In memory of Colby, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Wismer: Grace, 85 years, beloved mother of Shawnna, Jeff, Stacey and the late Lance, passed away in the Souris Health Centre on Thursday, January 7, 2021. A private funeral service will be held at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery at a later date. Wagner: Kay was born on Sept 15, 1925, to William George Akehurst & Eileen (nee Shilito) Akehurst, at Paygate Cottage, Ringmer, Sussex England. In 1928 a brother, Arthur George joined the family. They were a happy family, until the anxiety of War came and much changed. Her Father (Grandad to us children) enlisted in the Army, and later, her brother (Uncle Arthur) enlisted in the Navy.
