Deepest Sympathy Brenda and family. Your Mom was a stalwart person and influence to all the people she taught as well as in the community.
She was a special friend to our family. Thanks Brenda for calling-I am honored that you took the moment to do so at this sad time. Your Moms funerals will be on my brother Johns 70th birthday (who passed away 2 years ago). He too LOVED your Mom as we all did. Edna Edwards (Sawatsky)
Dear Ken, Dale, Brenda & families,
So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was such a kind soul as well as a great artist and teacher. May loving memories of your Mom keep her near to you. Our sincere sympathy.
I have very fond memories of Mrs. Doherty as my junior high teacher in Oak Lake many many years ago. The most poignant memory I have of her is when I became sick at school one day and she drove me home 5 miles to our farm. Way beyond the call of duty! And to this day I remember my Greek and Latin roots and I’m still solid in my grammar because of her excellent teaching. My condolences to the family.
My deepest sympathies to the Doherty family. Eileen was my most beloved teacher and mentor for three years at Oakwood Public School in Oak Lake. She nurtured in me a lifelong love of learning, and encouraged a love of the arts and literature. Because of her, I eventually became a teacher. Her gentle voice and gracious manner are never forgotten. Rest in peace, Mrs. Doherty.
Hearing of Mrs. Doherty’s passing has brought a flood of memories to me — the daily spelling quiz of 100 words; the elegance and professionalism she brought to the classroom; Latin roots which still linger in my mind. She was the finest of teachers in every sense of the word. We were blessed to have her inform our impressionable minds in Oak Lake. She has left a legacy with me. Grace and peace to all you — her family.
We extend our Deepest Sympathy to Ken, Dale, Brenda & Families.
I was saddened to learn of Eileen’s passing. She was a great lady, with many talents and attributes.
As a teacher, she was always smiling, cheerful, and nurturing. She inspired us to have better hand writing, to be better artists, and to mildly master the language of latin.
As a person, she was kind, caring, and always willing to help someone.
She will be missed and remembered by many!
Our love and hearts go out to your families.
So sorry to hear of Eileen’s passing. She was a very sweet lady who always had a smile and kind word to say when I seen her. May fond memories help to ease your grief.
Sincerely,
Kim Williams
