  12. Darlene and family, we send hugs your way. Randy was a very kind nice man and a true asset to our community with all the extra time he spent over the years helping with the park. He was a great neighbor on Dickson street. He will be missed by anyone who knew him.

  13. Dear Darlene, Amanda, Ryan and families, and gathered friends. I am not able to be there with you today, to cry with you and say goodbye. So I am writing these thoughts to share about a very dear man I considered my friend and a teacher in life. I first met Randy through his sister, Dawn, when I was trying to find the perfect home for my rescued dog, Koda, who I could not keep. Darlene and Randy had been without their beloved dog, Bear, for some time. I knew with certainty, after visiting them at their home, that Koda would have the most wonderful life possible with them. Still, my heart was breaking and I was crying when it came time to leave Koda behind. Randy, who was taking Koda’s leash, understood. He was such a strong presence of quiet compassion that I felt assured it was right for everyone. Over the next few years, when I visited their home, I saw Randy give his best, no matter the cost, to ensure the well-being of those he loved. I saw a deeply kind man of modest means who had a great, gentle heart for those that needed a little extra help. He made it his task to enjoy and tend to those closest in his world including the lands, birds and animals around his home and in his town. We all were better for his care. I am so sorry he had to suffer in these past years. I am thankful for knowing him. He and his family will always have a special place in heart.
    Sandra Storm
