Steinke, Ernest George

May your hearts, thoughts and prayers be with us as we grieve the unexpected loss of Ernie. Family and friends were shocked by his sudden passing on November 19, 2013. Born in Wapella, Saskatchewan, he met and married Linda Edgerton and settled on the Steinke family farm in 1967. They were blessed with five children, four of which have grown into adults, married, and have children of their own. However, god took our baby girl home at the time of her birth to be our angel and to watch over us.

Ernie enjoyed his cattle, baling, curling, watching sports and spending time with his family. After his second heart attack they sold the farm and moved to Souris, Manitoba in 2005. His retirement years were the best years of his life, spent dedicated to maintaining the lawn and appreciating the lilly beds. Watching his evergreens and his grandchildren grow beyond his expectations. He lived for his family and loved his sports, an important part of his life, keeping him entertained.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda. Their children Darcy (Kristin), Kilian (Christa) Kimberley (Steven), Tesa (Chris). Their grandchildren; Kindra, Ashton, Logan, Kendalyn, Jasmine, Ethan, Kinton, Danika, Taven, Summer, Kyden and Brielle. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Olga, mother-in-law Marie and infant daughter Gaylee.  Ernie, Dad, Papa We miss you already!
