Baker — Mabel Olive,Mable passed away peacefully September 10, 2014 at the Souris Hospital at the age of 79 years. Mable was born November 1, 1934 in Birch River, Mb. She was predeceased by her husand Richard and her parents Sam and Olive Heape. She leaves to mourn her sons Sam (Ina) and Brent (Beryl) Baker; three grandchildren Ryan (Rainna) Baker, Samantha (Chris) McNeil and Ashley Baker; three grandchildren Riley, Aubrey and Aden: her brothers Tom (Carol), Dave (Evelyn) Wayne (Linda) Heape and her sister Kathy (Al) Church, plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mabel lived the majority of her life in Hartney and was employed by several local businesses. She worked for Manitoba Telephone System, Briggs Clothing, Louis’s Cafe and the Co-op Store as well as farming full-time with her husband Richard. Mabel was a very honest, compassionate, hard working person. She loved all her creatures from her calves to her precious little dogs which she spoiled royally. She was an avid gardener and took pride in her flowers and plants and she loved to bake.
