Bartley, Harvey Warren

Bartley, Harvey Warren passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Rideau Park Personal Care Home.  Harvey was predeceased by his parents Roy and Beryl Bartley of Souris, Manitoba. Harvey was the eldest child of 3 sons.

Leaving to mourn his passing are his 2 daughters: Carla (Wally), Grand daughters Bryanna and Rylee McRuer

Marla (Chris) Grand daughters Sierra and Trinity.

Along with his 2 brothers Glen (Dianna) Bartley and family Claire Bartley and family. As well as extended family.

Harvey met the love of his life Carol and resided in Carroll MB until 2004.  In which they both decided to move to Brandon MB. They met in Sept 1970, engaged in October 1970 and married in November 1970.  In 1974 they gave birth to Carla and in 1975 they had Marla.

Harvey worked as a machine operator for 30 years for Department of Highways in Brandon.  Over the 30 years he had met a lot of great people. After his retirement he loved to attend his Brandon Wheat Kings.  He was a faithful ticket holder for 20 years. He would always have to be there an hour early even though he sat in the same seat, the same section. He would love to go early and hand out his Werthers candies and visit with the regulars. We always would tease him that he was going to miss the game which was never going to happen with his arrival at the arena was 5 or shortly after.

In keeping with Harvey’s wishes a private graveside service was held at the Carroll Cemetery. In memory of Harvey, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.

  22. I am sorry to see this news about Harvey. I worked for the Wheat Kings for 13 years and every game night we would hear the door open to see Harvey’s smiling face. He would walk right over to my desk, hand me my werthers candy and give my hand a little shake! He was a special, kind man.
