The family of Denis Alexander Bauldic is saddened to announce his passing on April 20, 2024 at the Souris Personal Care Home at the age of 77 years. Denis will be lovingly remembered by his wife Pat, daughters Laura (Mike), Erin, Lisa (Mark), son Kevin and grandsons Jason, Ryan, Logan and Connor.
Denis was born in Brandon, Manitoba on March 16, 1947, to Edward and Alvina Bauldic. Denis and his five siblings (Peter, Lou, Marie, Raymond and Michael) grew up in Alexander, and later attended high school in Brandon.
Denis became a Certified General Accountant after high school, starting his career in Brandon where he started his family, welcoming his daughter Lisa and son Kevin, before eventually moving to Winnipeg.
In 1982, Denis met Patricia Campbell through the introduction of their mutual friends, George and Marlene Lombaert and they married in 1984. Denis and Pat later welcomed two daughters, Laura and Erin.
In 1994, Denis completed his certification in Municipal Administration. This certification led to new opportunities and the family’s move to Souris in 1995, when he started the role of Chief Administrative Officer for the Municipality of Glenwood and remained until his retirement in 2010.
Denis and Pat loved Souris and it quickly became home, making many friends and getting involved with the community. Denis valued community and volunteering, and put in many hours to building his community: he was a member of the local Citizens on Patrol, a Meals on Wheels volunteer, a member of the local Lions Club, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and also serving many years on the executive of the Souris Golf Club.
Denis was an avid golfer and curler. He was a regular participant in Souris Golf Club’s Wednesday men’s nights, as well as many golf tournaments throughout the summer. This love of golf is something that he shared with not only his children, but also his grandchildren. His grandson Logan gets lots of luck from grandpa’s golf clubs! Denis was also an avid curler, participating in mixed curling leagues with Pat in Winnipeg and continuing with mixed and men’s curling nights after moving to Souris.
Denis also enjoyed playing cards and games with his friends and family. Many of those close to him will especially have many fond memories of playing cribbage!
In keeping with Denis’s wishes a private graveside service was held at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Cram and the staff at the Souris Personal Care Home for their care and compassion shown to Denis. In memory of Denis, donations may be made to the Souris and Glenwood Golf Club or to the Souris Curling Club either donation made payable to the Municipality of Souris Glenwood Box 518 Souris, Manitoba R0K 2C0.
Pat and family, my heart felt thoughts and prayers are with you all. Denis can rest easy now and know that you will stay strong and be there for each other!
