It was a sad day when I heard of Sheldons passing but I take solace in the memories made with Sheldon in our younger years travelling around the country in the black bronco to curling bonspiels and wherever else the bronco took us.
Playing ball with Sheldon on the Sportico team was also a lot of fun. Lots of good times, laughter and great memories made when around Sheldon. He will be missed by many.
May your own great memories of him help you through this difficult time. Thinking of you all in your time of sorrow. Take care. Rest in Peace Sheldon.

  18. We are thinking of Carla, Amy, Lena and the rest of Sheldon’s family and good friends – I always appreciated the kind of person Sheldon was when he helped with the Middle Years boys basketball program at school. He did not have to help us, but he wanted to. He came to help, to build skills and to enjoy his time with the kids. I always felt that the kids, and some of we adults, learned far more from Sheldon than game skills, and I am always thankful for people like that. We are sad that his health has been so poor for too long, but cherish all the memories. Whenever I would ask about how things were going in recent years, you knew exactly how much he loved his three girls! Our sympathy – Lori and Jim Denbow

  19. I’m so sorry for your loss Carla. I may not have you either of you in the past few years but I will always remember the good times we had together in our younger years. I always respected Sheldon and enjoyed my time with him.
Take care of yourself and your family, my thoughts are with you

  20. To Carla, Lena and Amy

So sorry to hear of your loss.

As time passes, we experience moments like these to remind us of how lucky we were to have known someone like Sheldon.

We will always remember Sheldon as a very busy person, who always found time to help his neighbour.

We will always remember Sheldon, driving his truck to and fro, with Sadie on his lap. We will always remember Sheldon checking his fields, both anxious in the spring to sow and in the fall to harvest the new crop(s).

We will always remember Sheldon, generously and unconditionally, clearing our snow-covered driveway. We will always remember Sheldon for caringly and decidely helping us with our water well.

We will always remember Sheldon, not only as a very busy person, but, more importantly, as our unconditionally generous and decidely caring neighbour.

Sending Our Sincere Condolences and Shared Memories,
Stu, Annie, Pj, Josh, Steph and Krystal

  23. Words can’t tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Sheldon was a character for sure-and will be missed by so many. I have fond memories of visiting the Betker farm where Sheldon gave Sandra and I rides in the grain truck and tried to explain combining to me! I also remember one time that he borrowed my notes for a university class that we both took- but he had a conflict with another class and so thought he could just use someone else’s notes and just show up for the tests. He aced the course and did much better than me!!

  24. Our condolences to Carla & family. We are so very sorry to hear of Sheldon’s passing.

  25. My condolences to Carla and family. I had the pleasure of working with Sheldon on the board for the new pool. He was always entertaining and so sharp! Very sorry for your loss.
