  1. I am so sorry to see that Janet has passed. Denise and Darcy were a huge part of my high school years and so were Janet and Bruce. Janet always made us kids feel like we were welcome at the house and we treated her home as if it were our own. I seem to recall helping to cause some water damage to the floor in the kitchen, but Janet and Bruce never kicked us out for that–or any of the many other things we did there. We were always welcome and there was usually a bunch of us at the house. Every group of teenagers need to have somewhere they can hang out, be accepted for who they are, and not feel judged–that was the Clevett house.

I have some recipes in my handmade recipe book that are titled “Mom Clevett’s Cheese Cake” and “Mom Clevett’s Lemon Tarts” that I make regularly and that friends and family love and rave over. Thank you, Mom Clevett, for those recipes and for the happy memories from my youth.

Please accept my sincere condolences of the passing of Janet, your wife and mother. I know it has been many years since we’ve last spoke, however I recall very well of my days in high school hanging out with my buddy Darcy at the Clevett household. And in that household was the never ending warmth of family which included laughter, and Janet with her baking goods. The feeling of comfort was always there.

Take care, and I’m think of you all.
