Cowan, Kathleen Louise

Kathleen Louise Cowan passed away peacefully in Souris Hospital on November 11, 2022.  Kay was born October 11, 1953 to proud parents, Art and Reta Cowan. Kay was the oldest of 5 siblings; Doug, Debi, Janet and Bill.  She grew up on the farm SW 32-6-22 RM of Cameron.  Kay loved coming home to the farm for all family gatherings. Kay attended school in Hartney, Mb and graduated in 1972.

Cochrane: Ruth Ann passed away peacefully at Fairview Personal Care Home, Brandon, on Tuesday, September 28, 2022 at the age of 61 years. Ruth was born in Souris, Manitoba October 31, 1961 to Eldon & Louella Cochrane and lived in Elgin, Souris and Brandon. Carlisle, Phyllis Marion

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Phyllis Marion Carlisle on May 27, 2021, at the Souris Personal Care Home.

Phyllis was born Feb 23, 1939 to John and Jennet Sheane, in the farmhouse located in the RM of Archie, Willen MB. She was one of six siblings, three brothers and two sisters.

After attending Roselea School she moved to Souris as a teenager in 1955 to gain employment. There she met and married former husband Gerald Carlisle in 1957.

Cowan, Thomas Arthur

Thomas Arthur Cowan was born on the farm near Hartney Manitoba on June 21, 1932.

He passed away peacefully at the Souris Health Centre on March 12, 2020 at 87 years of age.

Art attended Hartney School, and completed his grade twelve at United College of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He then went on to continue his education there.

Art married Reta Janet Robson on April 11, 1953 at Bethel Church in Deleau, Manitoba.

Art and Reta farmed the original homestead SW 32-6-22 as the third generation of Cowans.

Cowan, Leona Jean

Cowan: Leona Jean (nee Swaenepoel). On Monday May 20, 2019 at the age of 71 years Leona passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Leona was born in the Souris Hospital on June 20, 1947 along with her twin sister Linda to parents Frank and Edna Swaenepoel. Leona attended school in Carroll and Souris. Following graduation she worked in the Royal Bank before taking her nurses training in Brandon and graduated as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
