Cowieson, Allan Ross

Allan, 96 years, beloved husband of the late Gwen Cowieson, father of Reid, Trevor and Dean, passed away at the Souris Health Centre on March 31, 2024. A graveside funeral service for family and friends will be held at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at the Souris Legion following the service. In memory of Allan, donations may be made to the Souris Personal Care Home c/o Prairie Mountain Health Box 10 Souris, Manitoba R0K 2C0 or to a charity of your choice.

  5. Allan was a great farmer and I remember him wearing white shirts while driving the tractor out in the field. a part of his sense of humor, maybe? He loved to joke around and make others laugh. Good piano player and entertained many. Also loved a good game of cards, and a good party.

  9. We are very sorry for the loss of your Dad and Grandfather Allan . Our Mom taught him in school, I presume in Elgin. I understood from Mom he was quite the jockster then and it continued on, when both families moved into town. Mom would receive through the mail, gag gifts, for her birthday, with post marks from everywhere but Souris.
    She realized after sometime, who was the guilty party. It was all in fun and brought lots of joy to our Mom.
    When she passed, we put one of those gifts in, beside her. You had wonderful parents and remember all those wonderful times together.
