Bill, 90 years, beloved husband of Janice McBrien, father of Don, Garry and Sandra Hart. Bill passed away at the Evergreen Place Personal Care Home, Boissevain on October 17, 2024. In keeping with Bill’s wishes a private service was held at the Riverside Cemetery, Hartney, Manitoba. In memory of Bill, donations may be made to the Evergreen Place Personal Care Home or to the Hartney Pool c/o Municipality of Grassland Box 399 Hartney, Manitoba R0M 0X0.

I have so many fond memories of the McBrien family during my years in Hartney, (both inside and outside of teaching) where I had the pleasure of teaching the McBrien clan at the beginning of my teaching career. I am sorry to hear of Bill’s passing, and hope the love and support of family and friends bring you comfort as you mourn. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry to hear of your loss. I have many fond memories of your father as one of those Hartney fathers who provided support and guidance to the gaggle of young people trying to find their way. Whether it was coaching sports, supporting or driving us to some event, he was there, another guiding presence in our lives. I know you will miss him and I hope your grief will be off set by many wonderful memories.
