Thomas, Joseph Arnold

Thomas: Joseph Arnold, beloved husband of the late Edna Viola Thomas, father of Terry, Sharon, Brent and Murray, passed away at the Hartney Community Health Centre on Monday, June 1, 2015 in his 100th year.  Joe was born on October 24, 1915 in the RM of Cameron.  Joe is lovingly remembered by his children Terry (Carol), Sharon, Brent (Karen), Murray (Vickie), 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Adrian Whiteman and sister-in-law Laura Paulsen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at the Lauder United Church, Lauder, Manitoba on Friday, June 5, 2015 with Rev. Doug Craig officiating, pianist Ewen Mosby, soloist Leona Joseph, usher Don Clarke, Pallbearers, Frank Stanley, Bruce Evans, Dannie Clarke, Reg Atkinson, Allan Roper and Alvin Radcliffe. Private interment was at Riverside Cemetery, Hartney, Manitoba. Joe, our father, grandfather and great grandfather was a hard working simple man, who just wanted a few words mentioned and simply laid to rest, a rest so well deserved after nearly 100 years of toil. Respectfully written in memory of Joseph Arnold Thomas. In memory of Joseph, donation may be made to a charity of your choice.

  2. Just read the paper and saw your Dad’s obituary notice .Sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. Will always remember the visits he made to the farm. He and my father always had “stories ” to recall and they would laugh and laugh. Nice that they kept in touch. In talking with you was glad to hear that he had lots of relatives around to visit with.
