Irene Josephine Catherine Charles (nee Dooley)
It is with great sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Irene Charles, on May 14, 2025.
Irene was born December 12, 1930, the first of eleven children born to Frank and Henrietta (Martine) Dooley. She had six brothers and four sisters. She lived in Hartney since 1958. She married John Charles on May 16, 1949. John died on November 30, 2007.
Besides her husband John, she was pre-deceased by four brothers, two sisters, one sister-in-law
Bruce, 90 years, beloved husband of the late Janet Clevett, father of Denise and the late Darcy. Bruce passed away at the Souris Personal Care Home on November 17, 2024. A celebration of Bruce’s and Janet’s lives was held at the Souris Legion Club Room, Souris, Manitoba on Friday, November 22, 2024. Private interment in the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. In memory of Bruce, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
Darcy, 64 years, beloved husband of Jennifer Zilkey. Darcy passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on September 3, 2024. A memorial reception for family and friends was held at the Souris Legion on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Private interment in the Oak Lake Cemetery. In memory of Darcy, donations may be made to the United Way or to a charity of your choice.
Donald Lee Cochrane passed away in Portage la Prairie hospital on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the age of 69. Donald was predeceased by his father Eldon Cochrane, mother Louella & sister Ruth. He will be remembered by his uncle Ossie Cochrane & his aunt Donalda Neufeld. There are many cousins to remember Donald as well as remaining members of the Rowe family from Nanaimo B.C.
Allan, 96 years, beloved husband of the late Gwen Cowieson, father of Reid, Trevor and Dean, passed away at the Souris Health Centre on March 31, 2024. A graveside funeral service for family and friends will be held at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held at the Souris Legion following the service. Gwen, 86 years, beloved wife of Allan Cowieson, mother of Reid, Trevor and Dean, passed away in the Souris Personal Care Home on December 8, 2023. A private funeral service was held at Kowalchuk’s Funeral Chapel followed by interment in the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. In memory of Gwen, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
