Bell: Robert (Robin), 75 years, beloved husband of Yvonne Bell, father of Marie and William, passed away at the Souris Health Centre on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Gordon Orville Agnew died peacefully in Brandon General Hospital on April 20, 2019 with his family by his side. Gord was the youngest son of Jean and the late Orville Agnew. Those left behind to mourn his passing are: his wife of 42 years Dianne (Josephson), his two sons Chad (Andrea) and Mark (Kristy) and four special grandchildren Jase, Mila, Levi and Elliott; his mother Jean, brother Bill (Alana), niece Lara and her children Wyatt, Kylie, Emma and Mila. McArthur: Chuck McArthur passed away March 28, 2019 at Souris Hospital.
Chuck was born in Birtle, Manitoba in 1941. He received his grade 12 education in Birtle, and then went onto university of North Dakota where he received his teaching degree.
In 1965 he married Linda Peeler of Birtle, Manitoba.
In 1966 they moved to Souris where they raised Two daughters: Jennifer and Jill.
He spent his 30 year teaching career at Souris collegiate. During his career he coached many school sports and hockey.
Sykes: Joyce Maxine (Lenora), 87 years, passed away in Souris, Manitoba on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. A celebration of Joyce’s life will take place at a later date. Robbie, as he was known to all, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2019, at age 89, at the Souris Health Centre, after a long battle with cancer. A graveside service was held February 2, 2109, at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating, followed by a gathering of friends at the Souris Legion for lunch and a time of remembrance.
Predeceased by his loving wife Pamela in 2004, he is survived by his sister Gladys Smillie of Ardersier, Scotland, nephew Ewen Smillie and wife Catherine of Ballynahinch, N. Ireland, nephew Ian Clayton and wife Andrea of Inverness, Scotland, and Pam’s brother Kenneth Clarke and wife Carolyn Davies and family of London, England. Born in Culmill, District of Kiltarlity County Inverness, November 6, 1929, he immigrated to Canada in 1957 and worked for a period of time as a farm labourer in the Carroll district and as a lift operator at the San Antonio gold mine, Bissett, MB. On a return visit to the UK he met and, in 1966, married Pamela Clarke, settled in Souris and began work in the farm machinery and auto industry, retiring in the mid 1990s after a long career as parts man for Cubbon Motors, where he was a dedicated and respected employee. Robbie was a charter member of the Souris Lions Club and a longtime member of the Souris branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Robbie was a proud Canadian but he also cherished his Scottish heritage. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ardagh: Alice June (Hunt) passed away peacefully at the Hartney Community Health Centre on December 25, 2018 at the age of 95 years.
Alice was predeceased by her husband Bill Ardagh, daughter June, parents Robert and Jessie Hunt, brothers George and Ernie, sister Gwen and half brothers Frank, Arthur and Robert.
Alice is survived by sons Greg (Joy), Ian and her daughter Janice. Grandchildren: Allison, Melissa (Gerry), Melinda, Jonathon, Jasmine (Jamie), Jamie (Shane). Great grandchildren: Dakota, Phoenix, Aries, Hailey, Brendan, Julia, Chevy, Jordan, Abby. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was born on June 11, 1923 at Dropmore, Manitoba to Robert and Jessie (Pope) Hunt. Alice was employed at #7 A.O.S. Airbase in Portage la Prairie servicing airplanes. She joined the C.A.A.C. serving in Montreal. She had a brief teaching position in the Cavell School District. After her family was of school age she worked part time at the Hartney Hospital and later took a full time position there until her retirement. Alice enjoyed spending holidays with family, gardening and visiting with friends. Her years were full of hard work, hard times, changing times and good times along with new inventions. Throughout those years she had many laughs, cooked many meals and fed numerous people. Alice took pride in being part of the Hartney Hospital staff; she had many friends and memories from the past and present. She was nothing short of an extraordinary mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
A funeral service was held at the Hartney Centennial Centre with interment in the Hartney Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hartney Community Health Centre Doctors and staff, Kowalchuk’s Funeral Home, the Lauder Colony Choir, Hartney Men and Women Legion members, Hartney Choir and Karen Barrows. Thank you for all who attended Alice’s funeral service along with everyone who had a part in Alice’s life throughout her life journey.
