Unrau: John Unrau passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021 after a brief time in the Souris Hospital at the age of 97. John was a simple man. He valued his family, his friends and his community. John had an incredible will to live. He believed in hard work and conducted himself with honesty and integrity.
Predeceased by his wife Anne in 2009, he will be missed by his children Bob (Judy) and Joanne (Harold), his four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

James Allan Polwarth ‘Al’ was born on a farm north of Melita (previously Broomhill) in June of 1927; the only child of Jim and Jean Polwarth. Dad started school in Broomhill, although he admitted he was not a regular attendee and went as far as Grade 8.
Dad worked as a grain buyer for Ogilvie Elevators, later sold to Manitoba Pool Elevators, until he moved to Souris in November of 1949. He applied to work as a trainman in Minnedosa, but was told there was more opportunity in Souris
Joan Wilson Goodwill (nee Torrance) was born January 3rd, 1935 on the farm 6 miles south of Griswold where she lived along with her father George Sr., mother Jessie (Durston), older brother John and younger brother George Jr.
At the age of eight years old in 1943, her mother passed away. Joan and her brothers had to take on added chores and responsibilities. Joan, with the help of her younger brother George, became the homemaker. She started her schooling at Hillsdale School and completed
Dornian: George, 92 years, beloved husband of Jean Dornian, father of Dale (Barb), Joy (Martyn) and Brent (Cheryl), as he wished George passed away at his residence in Souris on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. We are honoring his preference that there is a private family graveside service at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. In memory of George, donations may be made to the Canada Foodgrains Bank.
Johnson: Pat, 96 years, beloved wife of the late Ray Johnson, mother of Brian (Wendy), Dave (Lee), Ken (Brenda) and the late Sheila, passed away in the Souris Personal Care Home on Friday, August 20, 2021. Penner: Lee (Hatch), 77 years, beloved wife of Eric Penner, mother of Kelsey, Trever and Ryan, passed away in the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, August 9, 2021 after a life well and fully lived.
