Kohut — Audrey May (Doherty), born on November 9, 1924 in Griswold, passed away January 14, 2014 at the age of 89 in Souris with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Tony and her children Deborah, David (Wendy) and Tracy; five grandchildren Greg, Courtney, Richard (Alondra), Reid and Katherine (Tony); and two great-grandchildren Angela and Danika. Her sister Bernice Doherty, brother Don (Alva) Doherty, her sister-in-law Anne Parham and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Tom and Edith Doherty; her sister Marion Hintz; brothers-in-laws John, Bill, Mike and Harry Kohut; and her brother-in-law Ken Parham. Audrey was a lifetime Charter member of St. Paul’s United Church UCW since 1962, where she had various roles including secretary and president of her unit for many years. She had also taught Sunday School which she enjoyed very much. Her priority was looking after her family. She worked many years doing the books and taking meals to the fields for the company which she and Tony started in 1968. Through the years many of her interests included ceramics, paper toll pictures, creating cruel and needlework pictures, reading and doing puzzles. She could always be seen out in her garden which she lovingly cared for. all of these things helped her enjoy life’s many challenges. All who knew her in Souris called her the hat lady as she was never without one. Audrey will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.
