Arnold, Norma: July 8, 1943 – April 14, 2025
Peacefully, on April 14, 2025, at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Norma Arnold passed away.
Loving wife of the late Don Arnold, Norma was a devoted mother to Gail (Brian), Kim (Lisa), and Jeff (Izabel). She was a cherished Nana and Great-Nana whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Phillips, beloved wife of Bill, mother to Richard (Rick) & Robert (Rob). Janet passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 77. Janet was born April 27, 1947 to Mel & Babs Wilson of Souris, MB. Janet is predeceased by her husband (Merlyn) Bill Phillips.
Janet grew up splitting her time between her grandparents’ farm in Napinka and her parent’s home in Souris. Her and Bill married in 1964 and bought their first farm
Eleanor, 84 years, beloved wife of Wayne Gordon, mother of Barry, Bryan and Brent. Eleanor passed away at the Souris Personal Care Home on March 22, 2025. A memorial reception for family and friends was held at St. Paul’s Auditorium, Souris, on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 12:00. Private interment in the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. Bill Kirkup: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of W.R. (Bill) Kirkup. Bill was born on April 14, 1934, and passed away at the Souris Personal Care Home on March 17, 2025 just days shy of his 91st birthday.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Sheila Kirkup (Saunderson), and their five sons and their families: Grant (Sandra), Dwight (Nancy), Dwayne (Maureen), Greig, and David. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Alexander John Hardy was born May 8, 1935. He was the second oldest of Gus and Bertha Hardy’s 7 children. He grew up on the farm and went to school at Deleau. He met Mary Lou Skrine when her country school shut down and she transferred to Deleau to finish her school. They were married May 4, 1957 and had 4 children, Jim, Ken, Karen and Susan. After a hard-fought battle with ALS, we have lost our beloved Randy at the age of 65 years.
He is greatly missed by his wife and best friend Shannon, his daughter Crystal (Jacob), his family and countless friends.
Randy was always the first person to offer help and to make sure that any job he did was done RIGHT. He never asked for anything in return, but wouldn’t say no to a rum and coke or a beer.

Peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025 Ronald Leslie Ramsey passed away at the Souris Health Centre with his family by his side.
Ron was born on November 2, 1928 in Lauder, Manitoba and attended Lauder school. In 1948 while working as an apprentice electrician for Atkinson Electric, he caught the eye of a young lady who worked at the MTS building in Hartney. Lucy Blanchard and Ron Ramsey were married June 28, 1950.
This was the beginning of a 72 year romance, filled with love, laughter, hardships
Muriel, 86 years, beloved wife of the late John Gray, mother of Jackie and Marion. Muriel passed away at the Souris Health Centre on March 10, 2025. A private funeral service was held at Kowalchuk’s Funeral Chapel, Souris, with interment in the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery. Tineke, 69 years, beloved wife of Gerlof de Jong, mother of Neeltje, Auke (France) and Liz (Kyle), grandmother of Olivia, Paige, Matthew and Abigail. Geraldine (Gerry) Elizabeth Budd (née McMunn), passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the Souris Personal Care Home. Gerry was born November 22, 1925, in the RM of St. Andrews, MB, to Pemberton Deacon and Elizabeth McMunn (nee Carter).
