Earl Mathew Atkinson – Earl was born December 21, 1928 at the home farm at Lauder, Manitoba.
Earl attended school at Grand Bend, Lauder and Brandon College. October 1, 1949 he married Dorothy Swerdfeger and started a farming career.
In 1952 their first son Ken was born and in 1954 a second son Rod blessed their family also.

Jack Huston Tufts –
The family of Jack Tufts were saddened when he passed away in the Palliative Care Ward of the Souris Hospital on October 17, 2016. Jack had been living in the Personal Care Home in the Souris Hospital since March 2016. November 17, 2016 would have been our 65th wedding anniversary.
Jack was born April 17, 1924, the seventh of ten children born to James and Violet (Moore) Tufts of Fairfax, MB.
He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Violet Tufts, and by three brothers

Helen Ether Fallis – It is with great sadness that we mourn the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and aunt Helen Ethel Fallis, on October 18, 2016, at the age of 61. Joseph Rene Louis Fortin – Passed away peacefully on October 16th, 2016 at the Souris Personal Care Home.
Rene Fortin was born on January 18, 1929 to Napoleon and Flore Trudel-Fortin in Dry River, Manitoba. In time he was joined by his sister Doris and brothers Roger and Donald. The family settled on a farm near Baldur. In 1951, Rene married Simone Liban and welcomed their first son, Ron. They then moved to a farm in the Elgin area where they grew to a family of six. Douglas Gordon Wayne Burnett – Was born April 23/1958 in Souris, Manitoba to Howard and Jean (Howell) Burnett.
Doug peacefully passed away on October 7/2016 with his best friend and companion of 10 years his dog Mandy and four loving sisters Norma, Della, Sheila and Rhonda by his side at the Assiniboine Centre Hospital in Brandon. Doug was predecease by his mother Jean in 2001 and his father Howard in 1991.
The family left Souris in 1959 and moved to Forrest, Manitoba for a short time
Reid, Norma Adine
Norma Adine Reid – passed away peacefully on September 8, 2016, after a lengthy stay at the Souris Health Centre, at age ninety-two.
Norma was born October 2, 1923 to Charles and Minnie Adine Clark and grew up on a farm at Elm Creek, Manitoba. After completing normal school training in 1946, Norma taught Grades 1 and 2 in Elgin, Manitoba. In December 1948, she married Arthur Reid and together they farmed the Reid family homestead at 18-21-7 until selling the farm and retiring to Souris
