After a long hard-fought battle, with sense of humour intact, and his love by his side, Ron left this world peacefully on September 28, 2023, at the Souris Health Centre.
Ronald Allan Barclay was born in Souris Manitoba, to Allan and Eva, on September 28th, 1943. His first home was the family farm north of Souris, it would also be his last. He loved everything about the farm; spring seeding and fall harvest, his huge yard, impromptu visits at the infamous staff room, his immaculately trimmed
Alys (Sammy), 93 years, beloved wife of the late Charles (Chick) Will, passed away in the Souris Personal Care Home on September 20, 2023. A private graveside funeral service was held at the Carroll Cemetery. In memory of Sammy, donations may be made to the Souris Legion.
Robert (Bob) Harold Arbuckle
Dad passed away at the Souris Personal Care Home on September 19, 2023 after complications from a stroke he suffered on April 7, 2023. He enjoyed 94 ½ years of excellent health. For the last 5 months, he was bedridden and paralyzed on his right side. It was tough for him and the family as we’ve been so lucky to have him in great health for so long!

Jerry, 80 years, beloved husband of Elaine Leforte, father of Shad, Laurie, Denise and the late Tim, Darrell and Dwayne. Jerry passed away in the Souris Health Centre on September 18, 2023. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date. Adrien, 83 years, beloved husband of Rosemarie Bourgeois, father of Doris, Evelyn, Keith and Lyle. Adrien passed away in the Fairview Personal Care Home, Brandon on September 13, 2023. A celebration of Adrien’s life was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Souris on Friday, September 29, 2023. In memory of Adrien, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
George Torrance, beloved Father of Dean, Jill, and Tim passed away in Calgary, September 7th at the age of 87 years, with his family at his side. Special thanks to the staff on Unit 46 of the Foothills Medical Center for their very compassionate care before his passing.
George was born on the family farmstead near Griswold on January 4th, 1936 to George Sr. and Jessie (Durston). He was the youngest of three, John, Joan, and George Jr.

It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my mom, Bertha Mary Heape, who passed away at the Souris Health Centre on March 10, 2023 at the age of 79 years.
Mom was born to Delbert and Lavinia Russell in Deloraine, Manitoba on July 23, 1943. She lived in Dand until moving to Hartney. Mom spoke fondly of her railroad trips with her parents and her sister Lucy.

It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Sharon.

She was so caring and thoughtful; a person’s spirits could not help but be lifted when you were in her presence. George Hennessy of Oak Lake, Manitoba was born November 2, 1941 in Kenora, Ontario. George passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the Health Sciences Centre – Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 16, 2023.
George spent his earlier years in Kenora before the family moved to Winnipeg. George moved to Oak Lake in 1981 after purchasing the Oak Land Hotel.
