Hammond: It is with great sadness we announce that on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home in Brandon, John (Jack) Alexander Hammond slipped away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 88 years. Jack was born October 12, 1925 on the family farm in the community of Westhall, Manitoba, midway between Deloraine and Hartney. Francis Edward (Ted) Jenkins passed away suddenly on January 8, 2014 at the age of 68.
Ted was born at Shoal Lake, MB on December 23, 1945, second eldest to Jack and Irene Jenkins. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in McConnell, MB. In 1964 the family moved to Oak Lake, MB. Ted first worked at diamond drilling for a short time and then started road construction. On Dec 28, 2013 Harry Forrest passed away at the Souris Personal Care Home at the age of 97 years. Born in Souris on April 16th, 1916 Harry lived his entire life in Souris except for his service with Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II. The youngest child of a family of six, Harry had five older sisters: Kate, Mary, Grace, Margaret and Helen all of whom have predeceased him, as have his parents, Samuel Henry “SH” Forrest and Grace Helena Woodhull.
