Phyllis Dorothe Williams (nee Janz)
Phyllis Williams, a long-time resident of the Souris area, died August 7, 2015 with her family at her side. Phyllis was born July 2, 1928 at Minitonas, Manitoba to Archie and Bea Janz. She was the youngest of their five children. She told us stories about helping her father on their farm and of the many childhood pranks she pulled with her sisters and brother. Deleau, Albert: With family by his side, Ab passed away on the morning of August 6, 2015 at his residence in the Souris Personal Care Home. Ab was born January 25th, 1922, to Gaston and Valdemire Deleau, the youngest of 3 children. He was born and grew up on the family farm in Deleau Manitoba. He took all his schooling in Deleau where he met his wife Claris Jasper. They married October 30, 1944. He was born October 18, 1933, at his paternal grand-parents farm near Wauchope, Saskatchewan, the oldest of six children of Leon and Cecile Laval. In 1943, the family moved to a farm south of Deloraine, Manitoba, where Paul went to Brock School, then high school at Deloraine Collegiate. Mary Lou was born February 12, 1939 to Fred & Audrey Skrine. She was the oldest of their three children and the only girl. She grew up in the Whitefield district and took her schooling there until the school closed and she went to school in Deleau. That was where she met her husband Alex Hardy.
Alex & Mary Lou were married May 4, 1957 and raised a family of four children. Those years were spent helping on the farm, canning, baking and keeping house. When the children were
Sanderson – Audrey “Lorraine” passed away Saturday June 27, 2015 in the Souris Personal Care Home at the age of 96.
Lorraine was born in Carman, Manitoba on January 24, 1919 to Francis and Freda Butcher. She was one of 5 children, having 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Lorraine married Reginald Sanderson in May 1937. Together they had 4 sons; Frank “Sandy”, Twins Robert and William, and Tim.
She was predeceased by her husband Reg in 1987, Daughter in Law Ida in 2004, son Robert in 2011
Bertha Margery Denbow

On Monday, June 22, 2015, Bertha Margery (Duncan) Denbow passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Souris Personal Care Home, having lived a full and happy life for just short of a century. A pioneer of the Deleau/Bethel Church district she was born on July 30, 1915 on the Duncan family homestead. She was the fourth born of a family of ten.
