Finlay — Milton Roy Finlay passed away peacefully at the Souris Personal Care Home on March 7, 2014.  He was born April 2, 1919 on his parents’ farm near Goodlands, Manitoba.  He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor (Schmok) in 2008 and his birthday twin grandson Jason Hargreaves in 2009.  Roy was survived by five children, Ted (Joyce), Susan, Walter (Debra), Nancy (Jim Hargreaves) and Valerie (Harold Renn), four grandchildren, Aaron (Nicole) Hargreaves, Danielle (Paul Klick),

Swaenepoel, Andrew (Andy)

Andy passed away peacefully at the Souris Hospital March 4, 2014 in his 89th year. Andy was raised and educated in Carroll, Manitoba where he was one of fifteen children working on the family farm.

Andy married Barbara Yeo of Winnipeg in 1950 and they resided on the family farm until 1954 when they moved to Souris. Dad worked for the Souris Creamery for over twenty years. He then went to work for the Souris School as custodian and bus driver until his retirement in 1990. Dad was an avid outdoors

They were married on June 1, 1942 days before Hank went overseas to serve in World War II; when he returned at the end of the War they took up residence in Souris, where Hank was employed at the School as custodian where he worked until retiring at age 65. Alva worked at the Post Office and in the School lunchroom. Alva loved to knit, was a life member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a long time member of Crescent Rebekah Lodge.
