ROBSON: Lorne was born on the farm at Deleau, Manitoba on June 8, 1929 to Bill and Janet Robson. The farm at 16-7-23W is affectionately known as “Sweet 16”.

Lorne attended school in Deleau, until grade 11. From there he went to Winnipeg to attend University of Manitoba, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1952.

Ramsey: Gerry (Sam), 74 years, father of Jonathon Ramsey, passed away at the Souris Health Centre on Monday, June 11, 2018. Funeral service will be held at the Lauder Community Hall, Lauder, Manitoba on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Private interment in the Lauder Cemetery. In memory of Sam, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Lauder Cemetery Fund.
Bette Lynne Williams Brewer (72) passed away with family by her side at the Souris Hospital on June 11, 2018. Bette was born September 22, 1945 in Brandon and was the chosen daughter of the late Charles and Mae Williams. She was predeceased by her brother Dale Williams and her husband Russ McLeod.
Bette grew up on the family farm and later moved to Brandon where she worked for Binkley Motors before travelling to Winnipeg where she furthered her education and became a Licensed Practical
Jim King
Just three months short of his 104th birthday, our Dad and Grandpa passed away peacefully on May 29, 2018 at Valleyview Care Centre, Brandon, Manitoba. Wilfred James (Jim) King was born on September 1, 1914, the second child of a family of seven and first son born to Alfred and Mary King. At the time, Alfred was working for Sandy Taylor in the Underhill area and Jim was born on this farm, in a granary, the only place that was available for the young family to live.
Linda Anne Dennison was born June 2, 1948 to Velmore and Thomas Dennison of Souris, Manitoba. She attended Souris School and graduated with honours from the School of Social Work, University of Manitoba. She passed away May 21, 2018. A graveside service was held July 29, 2022 at the Souris-Glenwood Cemetery.
As a little girl, I remember her coming to our Breezelawn Community Hall with her folks. She was shy, but had a winsome smile and twinkle in her eye, as her dad played banjo in
Refvik: Kurt, 55 years, beloved son of Jim and the late Myrt Refvik, husband of the late Kathy Refvik, father of Sean, Dustin, Nils and Leif, passed away suddenly in Souris, Manitoba on Sunday, May 20 2018. Funeral service will be held at a later date. In memory of Kurt, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Howe: Donald (Hoop) Leslie, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2018 at the age of 74 years.
He is survived by his wife Lana, stepson Grant (Lisa), grandchildren Chloe and Connor, stepson Gowan (Rosa) grandchildren Gowie and Adrian; sister Bev (Mike), brothers Lorie (Laura) and Gary (Shirley) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Don was predeceased by his parents Syd and Lena, sister Darlene, brothers Ken and Allen.
Don spent most of his life farming and working on farms in the Elgin area, except
Irene Bauman (Farrar)
After a short illness, Irene passed away May 12, 2018.
She was born in Eatonia, Saskatchewan in 1926 and lived there until her mother’s death in 1937. She moved to Montreal at that time living with her Aunt and Uncle. Her father continued his farming operations at Leader, Saskatchewan until his death in 1953.
Irene moved to Toronto to study and met Adin while there. They married in 1949 and moved to Winnipeg in 1950 and Irene continued her studies in Education.

Phyllis Crawford(Brown) passed away at the Souris Personal Care Home on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by husband Rae Crawford. She resided in Brandon for most of her life. Phyllis was a kind and caring person who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Left to mourn is; her sister Faith Cristall; daughter, Debra Gildea(Dennis); sons Douglas Bullee(Charlene) and Jack Bullee(Lisa),also Walter and Christine Andrews; her Step- Daughters, Barb Drewry(Dale),
Brandon: Isabel Ruth. April 12, 1944 – April 29, 2018. Daughter of the late Forrest and Doris (Reid) Brandon. She attended Souris School, graduating in 1963. Ruth went on to Winnipeg to school of Nursing, graduating in 1966. The north called and she was hired in Norway House where she worked for Indian Affairs. She returned to Winnipeg but soon moved to Vancouver and was employed by the Vancouver Police Department as a nurse for 30 years. Ruth returned to Souris upon retirement in 2000.
